3ds Max - my experience/ opinion

I have always used Graphisoft Archicad for all my designs, plans, 3d model, finel layout,...but the rendering programme was never enough. The programme is perfect for me for everything else except rendering.

For rendering I have been using ARTLANTIS STUDIO for so long, but when I went to Germany, where I was studiing, they didn´t use this programme and thed didn´accept the output. That is why I have started to learn in 3DS MAX.

I think I have always wanted to try and learn how to work in 3ds Max, but I wasn´t sure if it is worth the effort. Now I have to say, sometimes it is and sometimes not at all.

I would divide my experience into INTERIOR and EXTERIOR rendering. I don´t do the building modelling in 3ds Max, just because I can do it faster and more effective in Archicad. And I also always do a postprocess in ADOBE PHOTOSHOP, which is just a necessary stuff for any architect I think.

For EXTERIOR rendering I am not sure If you need to spend the time by setting the scene, lights etc... It is really a bit time-consuming and after the rendering you have to use Photoshop anyway. The result is nice and it is interesting to try it once and see If I like this method of creating an exterior render or not, but from my point of view it really isn´t necessary.

On the other hand, the INTERIOR rendering is a different topic. It brings you a lot of new possibilities. It is maybe a lot more demanding, but the result is definitely worth it. What is really amazing is the quality of materials, shadows, reflections etc... It is really worth trying. I always find post-process for interior renderings a little bit more tricky, because you have to be more careful about the materials you have used, so I am really glad there is a programme that doesn´t need it.

3ds Max BASIC MODIFICATORS

I have prepaired a few Youtube tutorials on a topic 3ds Max BASIC MODIFIERS. I have chosen to make a few very short tutorials just because when I have tried to learn some basic skills in 3ds Max I have just found very complex modelling examples and I think that sometimes you don´t have as much time to watch a long video or you just need a quick answer to the question: ,,What can I possibly do with this modifier?"
